Saturday, January 16th: Brackets for the IESA tournament (7th & 8th) are online at the IESA website. We've got a tournament page for both levels that shows the breakdown for the hole state, with links from the schedule page, just click on IESA Tournament in the schedule. Final brackets for each regional we participate in can be accessed by clicking these links: 7th Grade Regional (Edinburg) 8th Grade Regional (Kincaid)
Saturday, January 16th: Practice and game schedule updated. The practice and game schedule has been updated on the practice schedule page for the rest of the season. This gives games and practice for the next two weeks. Hopefully we'll have to add a schedule for the following week as well. Link to weekly practice schedule.
Friday, January 15th: Regional seedings were completed for both 7th and 8th and are available online. The 7th Grade drew the 2nd seed and will play the winner of Calvary and South Fork on Monday, January 25th at 7:30 in Edinburg. With a win the 7th graders would move on to the Championship game on Wednesday @ Edinburg. The 8th grade was seeded 5th and will open with a game vs Calvary on Saturday, January 30 at 1:00 in Kincaid. A win would advance them into a Tuesday contest vs Edinburg at 6:15 in Kincaid.
Friday, January 15th: IMPORTANT! Players need to bring both uniforms to ALL tournament games. We ran into problems with this in Virden. We are scheduled to wear our reds in the first game at Pawnee, but players need to be in the habit of bringing BOTH to all tournament games.
Saturday, January 16th: All 7th graders are on the 8th grade IESA roster as well as the 7th grade roster. They can participate in both and all will be expected to attend all games and practices until the 8th grade falls out of the state tournament (or wins it!)
Saturday, January 16th: Following the Saturday game vs Pawnee, 6th graders will have the option of turning in their uniforms and preparing for the PMRA season or continuing to practice and dress for games with the 7th graders. The 6th graders are unlikely to get playing time during the IESA tournament series which begins on the 25th. They are all WELCOME to continue, all boys names are on the 7th grade roster, so it is their decision.
Friday, January 15th: The 6th graders WILL be needed for the next week as the Tomahawks compete at the Pawnee Tournament. We had to designate who would be playing for each team, and no overlapping or changing will be allowed during the tournament. ALL 7th graders will play exclusively in the 7th grade games at the Tourney. All 6th & 8th graders will play in the 8th grade games. The 6th grade will be our only subs for both games in this tournament, so they will likely see some floor time. Both the 7th and 8th will play in Pawnee on Tuesday with a bus time of 4:15. The 7th grade plays on Wednesday win or lose, and the 8th on Saturday win or lose.
Thursday, January 14th: Both Tomahawk teams picked up wins at the Virden Tournament and came home with hardware! The 8th grade knocked off Northwestern in their best performance of the season and won the Consolation Championship. The 7th graders defeated Virden in the 3rd place game. Congrats Tomahawks. |
