Although we don't have a lot of away games, we'll make up for it in distance for the few that we have. Clicking on the points on the map below will allow several options, including getting directions! This is pretty cool and worth an hour of playing around with google map features.

Clicking on the school names below will take you directly to the school link on the google map as well.

Edinburg Tournament & Regular Season Game

Games will be played in the high school gym.

Since nearly every Mohawk and Tomahawk sports spends at least a portion of their season making the trek to Edinburg, you probably know the way. You can go through north through Kincaid or venture through Taylorville on State Routes 48 & 29. Either way the school is located on the Northeast side of town.

Springfield Christian

Springfield Christian is part of the ministry of Westside Christian Church. The school and church are located on the northwest side of Springfield on the west side of Route 4.

Travel to Springfield at take 36/72 west on the south side of Springfield. Take the Veterans Parkway exit and go north past the mall. The complex is north of Washington and is distinguishable by the bright copper roof.

Sangamon Valley Jr High

Sangamon Valley Jr High plays their games in Illiopolis at the former Illiopolis HS gym. Note the change...the HS plays in Niantic, the JH in Illiopolis.

The choice for this trip is Interstate vs Route 48 and a tricky turn. Interstate is waaay longer (ie 20 miles), but has the advantage of taking you past Springfield eateries and almost no country road driving if weather is an issue. The 48 route requires close attention to the turn that is north of Blue Mound

Cowden-Herrick Jr High

Games are played at the Cowden-Herrick Grade School gym which is located on the north side of Herrick. This is the first to two VERY long trips this week. Google directions suggest a northern strategy and a southern strategy. The north route will take you through Pana and then straight south from Tower Hill. Southern route will take you through Nokomis and Oconee. If you want to live dangerously...take one for the trip down and try the other for the trip back! Oh the places we will go.

Sorento Jr High

Games are played at Sorento Jr High on the 510 South Main on the south side of town. This will be Coach M's first ever trip to beautiful Sorento, and it must be said nothing spreads more Holiday cheer than back-to-back, hour+, Tuesday-Thursday bus trips. Parents be sure to bring the egg-nogg.

Once again you have a choice...straight south through Hillsboro and down 127, the shortest route, or down Interstate 55 to Livingston and back east (longer but may be the choice if weather is an issue).

Northwestern Jr High

Northwest Jr/Sr High School is located in Palmyra (or rather just north of Palmyra). Jr High & High School games are played in the same gym.

  • Take Morrisonville-Farmersville Blacktop (CR-10) west towards Farmersville.
  • Continue straight east, the road will jog north and south experiencing name changes that mean nothing to you, Girard is 11 miles from Farmersville
  • The road, in its current incarnation as CR-12, will enter the south end of Girard after crossing two sets of Railroad tracks
  • Turn right (north) onto IL-4 and proceed .4 miles to the 4 way stop, make a left (west) onto CR-17.
  • Travel 16 miles on CR-17 to Palmyra
  • At the stop sign in Palmyra make a right (north) onto ILL-111 and travel ¼ mile to the school which is just north of town.

Virden Tournament

This tournament has been played in their Jr High gymnasium...we'll add more details in the next couple of weeks.

  • Turn right (north) onto IL-4 and go 4.5 miles to Virden
  • Proceed through the downtown area, north of the downtown area about 6 blocks turn left onto Fortune
